This is the Route. In 8 days we leave for a 14 day adventure. As it turns out I’ll be riding to LA along route 66 then driving back over the rockies and across the great plains. For years I’ve been dreaming about this journey and it’s so close I can almost taste it. Feel free to track our progress on twitter and of course I’ll be posting to here and Instagram (realnickgerber).
Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. It’s meant an immeasurable amount and because of it we get to go forth to meet and interview some of the men and women who make our country what it is.

This is my dad and I. Together we’re riding motorcycles across Route 66 in about 13 days. Along the way we’re going to be meeting, interviewing, filming and photographing veterans of the wars in the Middle East. We’ll be crafting a film and a collection of photographs which will raise awareness for the various veterans support groups that are doing good work easing the transition for these vets as well as giving a face and voice to the 2 million Americans who have served us. This project is called Operation: Route 66.I ask you now to join us in making this project. I understand that these are hard times, but if you’re able to help with a donation we would greatly appreciate it. You can do that at our website here. If you can’t help with a donation but believe in our mission, please find us on Facebook and Twitter and track us as we cross the United States. Tell your friends, families and anyone else you talk to. If you live along Route 66 in one of the cities below - Check us out! Come say hey!
Chicago, IL - now until 5/12
Springfield, IL - May 12th - 13th
St. Louis, MO - May 13th - 14th
Joplin, MO - May 14th - 15th
Tulsa, OK  May 15th - 16th
Oklahoma City, OK May 16th - 17th
Amarillo, TX - May 17th - 18th
Santa Fe, NM - May 19th - 20th
Albuquerque, NM - May 20th - 21st
Flagstaff, AZ - May 22nd - 23rd
LA/ Santa Monica, CA - May 26th - 28th
Finally, if you’re a veteran of the wars in Iraq/ Afghanistan or if you have family that has served we want to talk to you. It’s been a privilege to have met, interviewed and photographed so many fine people so far. It’s easy to put veterans in another category than us. But it’s important to remember they’re our brothers and sisters. They’re our mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters. It’s important that as they’ve served us we take the opportunity to show them we care.
